Hey, Everybody!!!!

THE INFO BELOW, ABOUT Tour de Telico-III, DISCUSSES 1 OF 3 REGIONAL RIDES THAT THE KLR RIDERS COME TOGETHER FOR. OF COURSE, ANYONE CAN RIDE WHATEVER THEY WANT, AND I HOPE A LOT OF YOU GUYS CAN MAKE IT!

It's only been 8 months since TDT-II, but it seems like forever ago, for me.

I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread designated for any Scouting Trips we have during the next 4 months, so whenever anyone gets the notion, we can just set up a time and go.

Even though I've been riding around here for the past 11 years, it never fails to amaze me at how we can keep finding new and exciting road/trails. The last 3 times I've been out on the bike, we found some new cool stuff for all level of riders. :eat:

It's looking like we may have even more guides this year. I'm also thinking that we will be able to cover a larger range of ride ratings (see http://www.tnadvriders.com/viewtopic.php?t=207) this year, too. :)

As we get further into the spring, maybe we can get all the guides and their rides organized for everyone to see...........

I'll run this thread on all the KLR forums and also http://www.tnadvriders.com/, so as nobody gets left out.

So, everyone keep your eyes on this thread for up and coming scouting trips! :dirtbike: See ya then!

I figured your 650 would do just about as good as the KLR. How's the seat back there for the passenger?

It might work.. I could buy a corbin.. I just figured the KLR would be way better 2 up.. The passenger is only like 100 lbs, so dont think it be too much..

No doubt Chuck knows all these, but I just did a few hundred Km a couple weeks ago. Rode Witt Road down to Towee Falls, then over to Star Mountain Rd and Childers Creek Rd. Took Benton Mtn Rd up to Oswald Dome Rd all the way down to Ocoee River. Then over to Greasey Creek, Kimsey Mtn Rd, and McFarland Rd up to Farner. Took Old Hwy 68 back up to Tellico, then blasted back to Knoxville. All the roads were in great shape, and since I'm pretty knew to the forest road thing on a bike, had a great time riding some new stuff. From Tellico back to Tellico I'd say it was about a 5 hour ride.

Here's another question. Last year I rode with you guys just one day (me and Nighstalker busted in on the KLRs!) but wonder if you always plan mostly forest/dirt stuff or if you plan any mixed twisty pavement/gravel stuff? Coming at this from the motard perspective (I could ride 17s or 21/18 combo) I wonder if a ride like Rafter Road over to Rafter, then north up to Hwy 360 area, then back south through Citico Road and Indian Boundary and down to the River Road etc. might be a twisty/gravel mix that people might want? If there is an interest in a "motard" category I could put something together for 1/2 day or all day?

I'd sign up for a motard day in addition to the normal mix. The one disclaimer would be not at the same time as the hooligan ride.

I would suggest more than one Hooligan ride say a red  hardcore one that would start early in the morning,
and a couple hours later a blue softer easy ride, the :poke1: KLR650 can be an overwelming beast for a 5'5" feller
loaded bags, and little dirt experince, like some from last year  makes good picts thou :picture:

Theres no hardcore riding in Tellico w/o going inside the OHV park.. And I dont even want to take my 650 up in there. I didnt think some of those guys knew what they were getting themselves into

Trail 81, and 82 , the 4-wheeler trail, up around the Deer farm, behind the guard rail off the Skyway
the powerline hill in Rafter, there are a few places around to beat up KLR's   :poke1: :picture:

Theres alot more we've found also but nothing real hardcore. But still pretty cool. Looking forward to the Holigan Ride this year.
